He was predeceased by: his parents, John Richard Hammel and Edna Victoria Hammel (Hedberg); his wife Laurita; and his siblings, Jack Eldon Hammel and Doris Lietzan.
He is survived by: his children, Catherine Eads (Ray), Richard Hammel (Mary), Manhattan and Daniel Hammel (Beth Schlemper); his grandchildren, Lauren McDaniel (Cole), Katie Bussard (Ben), Kirby Eads (Carissa), Curtis Deeter (Danielle) and Grant Wright; and his siblings, Elroy Hammel of Trivoli, IL., Overland Park of Trivoli, IL., Gary Hammel of Trivoli, IL., Wichita of Trivoli, IL., Janice Jewell of Trivoli, IL. and Vickie McCann of Trivoli, IL.. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
