He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Hummer and Pearl Hummer; and his wife Mardeane Hummer (Frasco). He is survived by: his son-in-law Steve Short; his sister Verlla Coughenour of Lindsborg; and his children, Whitney Short (Steve), Karen Lickteig (Ron), Erika Frerker (Duane), Hans Hummer (Grosse), John Hummer (Amy), Dena Albright (Jack) and Chris Hummer (Jodi). He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two soon-to-arrive great-grandchildren.
