With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Leota Claycamp McCarthy of Manhattan, Kansas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Leota Claycamp left this world on September 22, 2024 at the age of 81, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her former husband Larry Hanson; her son Steven Hanson; her parents, Emil Claycamp and Inez Claycamp; and her siblings, Kathy Rines, Wilbur Claycamp, Louella Brunner, Darrell Claycamp and Lois Blass.

She is survived by: her husband Bill McCarthy of Manhattan, Kansas; her daughter Pamela Martinez (Rick) of Manhattan; her grandchildren, Athen Martinez (Bree) of Charlotte and Raquelle Stepp (Connor) of Overland Park, Kansas; and her stepchildren, Tina Pierce (Troy) of Texas, Linda McCarthy of Kansas and Paul Pinnick (Charlotte) of Kansas. She is also survived by five step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 17 in c/o Melby Mortuary, PO Box 384, Mankato, Kansas 66956.
