She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Grieder (Phillips) and Vernal Grieder; and her husband Charles C. Whitson. She is survived by: her children, Chris Whitson (Nancy) and Deborah Whitson; her grandchildren, Amanda Whitson, Clint Whitson (Jenny), Whitney Wempe (Sam) and Charlie Harris; her great grandchildren, Reagan Rose and Chandler Kay Wempe; and her brother Clinton Grieder (Eunice).
In lieu of flowers, Mrs Whitson asked that memorials be made to the Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University or First Presbyterian Church.
