He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellen G. Farrell (Leonard) and John J. Farrell; his wife Jerene J. Rankin (Jean); and his brother Leonard Patrick Farrell. He is survived by: his children, Barbara Axelton, John Farrell Jr. of Manhattan and Patricia Newcome of Topeka. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
