She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Carl Sanders and Violet Mae Sanders (Hutchings); her husband Joe; her children, Bob Ellis (Janie) of Ardmore, Darreld Ellis (Marilyn) of Topeka, Terry Ellis (Polly) of Overland Park, Rick Ellis (Shelle) of Shawnee, Kansas and Sherry Duerfeldt (Dan) of Manhattan, Kansas; her siblings, Sharon Dooley of Casper Wyoming, Brenda Sue Davis of Gillette, Wyoming, Leon Sanders of Casper Wyoming and Bob Sanders of Casper Wyoming; her grandchildren, Chad Ellis, Brian Ellis, Josh Duerfeldt, Jessica Ellis Vidal, Nicole Ellis Semple, Dayna Ellis Robson, Matt Duerfeldt, Pam Ellis, Luke Duerfeldt, Andrew Ellis, Jacob Duerfeldt and Michael Ellis; and her son Lynn Ellis (Mary Lou). She was also cherished by 18 great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; one step great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial has been established for the First Church of the Nazarene.
