He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Kastner and Emily Biederman Kastner; his wife Rita Tasset of Kinsley; and his siblings, Paul, Alfred, Carl, Ernest, Helen and Francis.

He is survived by: his children, David Kastner (Susan) of Fayetteville, AR, Denise Anderson of Santa Fe, NM, Kathy Lyman (Chuck) of Manhattan, KS and Cynthia Birnbaum (Jeff) of Manhattan, KS.; and his brother Joe Kastner of Davenport, IA.. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren.
