He was predeceased by: his brother Stephen H. Doane; and his birth mother Joan Larson Elliott. He is survived by: his niece Emily; his pet Lucy; his aunt Judy; his wife Cathy Doane of Manhattan, KS; his mother Marjorie Doane of Jonesborough, TN; his children, Danielle Doane and Stephen Doane of Olathe, KS; his siblings, Michael Doane of Aiken, SC, Evans and Leslie Doane of Falls Church, VA.; and his aunt Judith Doane of Swampscott, MA.
