He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Kandt and Emma Kandt (Oppliger); and his siblings, Karl Kandt, Calvin Kandt, Vernon Kandt and Mary Driscoll.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his children, Kevin Kandt (Valerie) of Omaha and Kimberly Burdett (Charles) of Olathe, Kansas; his grandchildren, Arwen Ruth Lin of London, England, Lauren Jean Kandt of Sasebo, Japan, Alyssa Ann Burdett of St. Paul, Christian Charles Burdett of Norfolk, Virginia and Michaela Marie Cox (Brady) of Omaha, Nebraska; and his great grandchildren, Naomi, John and Rhett.
