He was predeceased by: his parents, Barbara Beer (Wendelberger) and Frank Joseph Beer; his sons, Mark and Michael; and his sisters, Virginia Beck and Eleanor Zimmerman.
He is survived by: his wife Margery Ann Beer (Melk); and his children, Kathleen Hammond of Waupaca, Wisconsin, Frank James Beer, III of Manhattan, Thomas Beer of Appleton, Wisconsin and Joel Beer of New London, Wisconsin.. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
