He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Smith and Luella Smith (Hancock). He is survived by: his wife Jeane Laizure; his children, Richard "Dick" Smith (Kimberly) of Manhattan, Linda Duncan (Timothy) of Fort Collins, Colorado and Janet Smith (Tad Wicker) of Norton; his grandchildren, Charisse Wilson (Larry Powell), Laura Duncan, Mandy Welch, Bethany Wicker, Matt Duncan (Crissy), Elizabeth Hammack (Scott), Karen Duncan (Dennis Bigelow), Christina Geiger (Brian) and William Smith (Kelly Skretta); his great grandchildren, Sam, Miles, Jack, Henry, Adam, Lizzie, Charlie, Leylen, Toren, Timothy, Trent, Grace, Jacob, Jenna and Ethan; and his siblings, Peggy Klaus, Bud Smith and Les Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
