We are sad to announce that on February 22, 2024, at the age of 94, Donald E. Younkin (Manhattan, Kansas) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Younkin and Sarah Younkin. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Brenner; his sons, Terry (Belle) of Spring and James (Glenda) of Manhattan, Kansas; and his sister Shriley Shreve of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by his many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Good Shepherd Homecare and Hospice Inc.

“Dear family, We have always appropriately referred to our dear neighbor as "friendly Don". He actually befriended me in 1989 (when I bought the little house up the street), and I have loved both of the Younkins since then. He's liked my golden retrievers-always petting them as "puppy dogs". They, in turn, enjoyed visiting him a lot as did I. May your grieving include the very best memories of Don.. I am so happy to have known him as my neighbor with the huge heart. Deb Martin”
