He was predeceased by: his father Burke Bayer. He is survived by: his mother Margery Bayer (Campbell); his children, Jason Bayer and Christy Graessle; his daughter-in-law Jackie Bayer; his grandchildren, Britney Grijalva (Kobe Grijalva), Bradley Bayer, Kiernan Graessle and Matt McCaleb; and his sisters, Dana Bayer and Becky Tadtman. He is also survived by seven nephews.
