She was predeceased by: her father Elvin McElroy; her former husband Walt Smith; her sister Joyce Bradrick; her mother Ruby Vignery McElroy Billing (Vignery); and her stepfather Millard Billing.
She is survived by: her husband Walter Dean "Ole" Smith; her children, Ron Smith (Kahrmelle) of Larned, KS, Rick Smith (Aline) of Sequim, WA and Cam Feltner (Britt) of Manhattan, KS; her grandchildren, Jamie Smith Lira, Kelli Smith, Jessica Feltner and Curtiss Feltner; her great grandchildren, Aiden Lira, Davis Lira and Walter Feltner; and her sister Jody McElroy File of Courtland, KS. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations in her memory to the Johnson Cancer Research Center at KSU, the American Heart Association, or the Alzheimer's Association in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
