She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Curtis Cook and Carmen Cook (Countryman); her husband Bud; her children, Bill Shirley, Jenny Aggson (Travis), Brian Shirley (Stephanie) and Emily Taylor (Clay); her grandchildren, Katelyn Shirley, Connor, Maverick, Cameryn Aggson, Liz, Cain Taylor, Drew, Taylor Shirley, Thai and Wasu'Jearler'Mukdaprasert; and her close friend Diane Matteson. She was also cherished by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, and in support of Betty's love of books, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Manhattan Public Library.
