He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward A. Sr. Rickel and Molly A. Rickel (Bargas); and his niece Justina Vanderlinde. He is survived by: his sisters, Melissa Morrill (Scott) of Manhattan, Teresa McMillin (Mark) of Manhattan and Monica Rickel of Manhattan; his nieces and nephews, Brent, Maggie Morrill, Francis and Rodney Craig; and his cousin Rick Salter.
