He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Murphy and Blanche Johnson Murphy; and his sister Sally Estes. He is survived by: his wife Patsy (Patsy); his children, Janell Curry (Gregg), Jola Casey (Evan) and Calvin Murphy (Chris) of Madison; his grandchildren, Brandon, Wesley, Taryn, Olivia, Miranda, Mitch, Paige and Emma; his great grandchildren, Kenyon, John, Kathryn, Reese, Ezra, Asher, Scarlett, Dapper, Sloan of Thalia, JW, Arie, Emmett and Eleanor; and his sister Callie Reber of Concordia.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lamont Wesleyan Church (2726 349th St, Madison, KS 66860). A memorial service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
