He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joy Butler and Roberta Butler (Wood); his wife Marcene (Rothrock) of Macksville, KS; his children, Jeremy Butler (Sarah) of Macksville, KS., Michael Butler (Lisa) of Rose Hill, KS and Amanda Applegate (Nolan) of Warrensburg, MO; his siblings, Carl Schmidt (Willa) of Macksville, KS, Teresa Gardner of Sylvia, KS., Carol Ledin (Karl) of Hutchinson, KS., Zita Schmidt of Hutchinson, KS., Diana Bolin (Ken) of Nickerson, KS. and Donna Green (David) of Inman, KS; and his grandchildren, Madison, Isabella, Laney, Lily, Sophia, Kennedy, Adeline and Bowen.

Memorials may be given to the Macksville Free Methodist Church in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
