He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Hammer and Esther Smith Hammer; his brothers, Sidney, Herbert and Ronald Hammer; his grandson Thorne Redger; and his great grandchild Carter James Warnecke.
He is survived by: his children, Robert E. Hammer Jr. (Tess) of Wichita, KS, Russell L. Hammer (Sonja) of Lyons, KS, Chris Turner (Jenise) of Lyons, KS, Billy Norman Turner, Jr. (Nancy) of Geneseo, KS, Billie Jo Martinez (Joel) of Lyons, KS and Deedra Turner of Lyons, KS. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and thirty great-grandchildren.
