He was predeceased by: his parents, Ova Parson and Emma Counseler Parson; his siblings, Larry, Leroy, Harvey, Letta Mae Brown and Elsie Denny; and his grandson Stephen Spencer.
He is survived by: his stepdaughter Barbara Taylor of Pampa, TX; his sons, Johnny Parson of Great Bend, KS, Tracey Parson of Great Bend, KS, Joe Parson Jr. (Nellie) of Chuluota, FL and Jason Parson of Berryton, KS; his sister Nora Parson of Gravette, AR; his siblings-in-law, Butch Denny of Topeka, KS, Betty Parson of Rogers, AR and Patricia Seyb of Franklin, TN; and his aunt Aletta Hubble of Hutchinson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Good Samaritan Society, Lyons in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
