She was predeceased by: her parents, Leon Curtright and Verna Huggins Curtright; her spouse Elva L. Maxwell; her former husband David Newell; and her brothers, Donald D. Smith and Harold Curtright.
She is survived by: her children, Kenneth Newell of Wichita, KS, Mark Maxwell of Manhattan, KS, Patty Swiercinsky of Topeka, Cheryl Bernhardt of Lyons and Beth Lorett of Buhler, KS. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to American Heart Association in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
