With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Jean Gifford of Lyons, Kansas, born in Brookville, Kansas, who passed away on March 8, 2021 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Peterson and Pearl Tanner Peterson; her husband Tommy Gifford; her daughter Wynona Imel; her siblings, Richard, Hugh, George, Merlin, Herman, Hattie, Evelyn, Melva and Alva; and her great great grandchild Benjamin Imel.
She is survived by: her daughters, Donna McBeth (Wilbur) of Lyons and Roberta Serbin of Lyons; her stepdaughter Sherry Jo Fuller of Carthage, MO; her son-in-law Paul Imel of Hutchinson; and her grandchildren, Rebecca McBeth, Teressa Newkirk (Delane), Rhonda Bixby (Greg), Robyn Serbin, Michelle Stoll, Angie Imel and Gina Imel. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren; and twelve great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the Bell and Star Fund and the Lyons Public Library in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
