He was predeceased by: his wife Frances; his son Scott Sloop; his parents, Lyle and Berneita; his son-in-law Cliff Alexander; his sisters, Jean Burns-Johnson and Rose Anne Sloop; his niece Jima Hope; and his nephew Cory Sloop.
He is survived by: his children, Diane Alexander of Topeka, Sandra Silver (Mark) of Pulaski, David Sloop (Carla) of Lyndon, Lynda Farwell (Robert) of Lyndon, Leeanna Remmert (Jerry) of Colorado Springs and Susan Baayoun (Assem) of Wichita; and his siblings, L. D. Sloop of Holton, Kenneth Sloop (Ann) of Topeka, Bill Sloop (Joan) of Osage City, Arlon Sloop (Frances) of Kansas City, Dale Sloop (Pat) of Bel Air, Maryland, Evelyn Hope-Jones of Topeka, Eula Nitcher (Kenny) of Pomona, Norma Miller (Gary) of Lecompton and Kathy Tevis (Don) of Emporia. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
