She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Bayes and Georgie Bayes (Schroeder); and her sister Robin Fish. She is survived by: her husband Jeff Nichols; her children, Joshua Nichols (Bridgette) of Overland Park, KS, Zachary Nichols of Osage City, KS and Samantha Nichols (Michael Wheatley) of Olathe, KS; her brother Jack Bayes (Debbie) of Belton, MO; and her siblings-in-law, Craig Nichols (Valorie) of Osawatomie, KS and Teresa Nichols (Dave Crandall). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Hereditary Neurological Disease Centre in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
