He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Lex Nelson and Yvonne Faithe Nelson (Swisher); and his wives, Jane Marie and Carol Ann. He is survived by: his children, Chad Steven Nelson (Deana) of Maize and Julie Nichols (Courtney) of Hutchinson; his grandchildren, Nathan Steven Nelson, NaTasha Jane Nelson, Ethan Robert Nichols and Trinity Jane Marie Nichols; his brother Jerry Nelson (Cathy) of Lawrence; his stepchildren, Steve Williams (Vicki) of Lincoln and Angela Riley (Mitch) of Beloit; and his stepgrandchildren, David, Tyler, Nicholas Williams, Trever Kirk, Zach and Lydia Riley. He is also survived by many cousins and other extended family.
