He was predeceased by: his parents, Adam Gokey and Ethel Gokey (Brock); his wife Mildred Covel; and his siblings, Adam, Cyrus, Johnnie Gokey and Emma Berhard.
He is survived by: his children, Ray Gokey (Nikki) of Meade, Rick Gokey (Karin) of Liberal, Ron Gokey of Liberal and Pam Lee of Turpin, Oklahoma; and his siblings, Leo Gokey of Tecumseh, Frank Gokey of Sandy, Oregon, Helen Littleton of Tecumseh and Louise White of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
