With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David Alvarez Cardenas of Liberal, Kansas, who passed away on January 22, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Trinidad Alvarez and Maria; his brother Javier Alvarez; and also Elva Alvarez. He is survived by: his wife Petra Alvarez of Liberal; his children, David Alvarez of Liberal, Trinidad Alvarez of Liberal and Claudia Alvarez of Liberal; his siblings, Ernesto, Raul, Jose Alvarez, Ofelia, Socorro, Martha, Maricela and Gillermina Alvarez; his grandchildren, Daniel, Andre, Alexander Aguirre of Liberal and Jayra Alvarez of Wichita; and his great grandchildren, Adaliyah and Zenaida Aguirre.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Hornung Family Funeral Home (1212 W 2nd St, Liberal, KS 67901). A rosary was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (1510 N Calhoun Ave, Liberal, KS 67901-2199). A Mass was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
