He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Devere Mead and June Darlington Mead (Jefferis); and his grandparents, Lawrence and Eva Jefferis. He is survived by: his wife Zelma Elaine Wheaton; his children, Lynn Mead (Julie) and Jan Murfield (Jay); his grandchildren, Nicole Ploger (Blake), Dustin Mead, Tyler Dykhouse and Faith O'Connor (Taylor); and his great grandchildren, Jaxon Ploger, Jemma Ploger, Brooks O'Connor and Julia O'Connor.
