She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, William John and Edith Mae McLean (Garner); her husband Virgil Wittig; her children, Marvin Hammons of Alderson, Gary Hammons of Garden City, Margaret Hammons of Fort Gibson, Sharon Paxman of Tribune, Donnie Hammons of Blytheville, Dell Hammons of Pennsylvania and Keith Hammons of Carnegie; her stepchildren, Tammy Banta of Medicine Lodge and Connie Stiles of Altoona; her sister Eunice Maurer of Chino; and also Freddie Hammons. She was also cherished by Thirty-three grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends.

Memorials may be given to the Wichita County Library in care of the funeral home.
