He was predeceased by: his parents, J. D. Highbarger and Mary Highbarger (Sheldon); and his brother Daniel Highbarger. He is survived by: his wife Kay Butts of Leon; his children, Darren Highbarger of Augusta, Sheila James (Carl) of Leon, Tim Pilcher (Michelle) of Bridge City, TX and Dana Ewbank (Eric) of Liberty, MO; his grandchildren, Dalton James (Lindsay), Derek Highbarger (Sarah), Garrett James (Jon Tucker), Courtney Scharff (Jeff), David Highbarger (Amanda) and Jaxon Highbarger; and his brother David Highbarger of Tulsa, OK..
