He was predeceased by: his parent Merle Potter; his sister Norma Wilson; and his brother-in-law Jerry Wilson. He is survived by: his former wife Sherri Wyatt Thornton; his wife E. Darlene Nichols Potter (Perkins); and his children, Michael Potter (Amy), Dedra Edwards (Leonard) and Robert "Nick" Nichols (Shawn). He is also survived by 12 grandkids; 9 great grandkids; and many extended family.
