She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Burchfield and Georgeann Burchfield (Wickens); her husband Everett Leighty; her daughter Lisa Smith; and her sister Myrt Harrison.
She is survived by: her children, Gregory (Lee Ann Leighty), Arlene (Chuck Casemore) and Darin (Susie Leighty); and her son-in-law Charles Smith. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Kansas City Hospice.
