He was predeceased by: his parents, George Goodwin and Mary Ellen Goodwin; his son Robin Dowd; and his siblings, George Ray Goodwin, Viola Louise Baehler and Richard "Dick" Alan Goodwin.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Shannon Goodwin; his sons, Barton Goodwin (Natalie Goodwin) of Lenexa, Kansas, Benjamin Goodwin of Lenexa, Kansas, Michael Shannon (Denise Shannon) of Kearney, Missouri, Stephen Shannon (Bonnie Shannon) of Shawnee, Kansas, Jon Shannon of Kansas City, Kansas and Kelly Poje (Timothy Poje) of Olathe, Kansas; his sister Jo Ann Huntsman of Alton, Illinois; and his grandchildren, Amanda Goodwin, Justin Goodwin, Brock Goodwin, Laura Goodwin, Shelby Wheat, Andrea Robinson, Jenny Brutto, Sarah Brutto, Molly Hussa, Stephan Shannon, Delaney Fisher, Casey Shannon, Shannon Webb, Ryan Shannon, Michael Porter-Shannon, Ryley Shannon, Shawn Magee, Nick Poje and Chris Poje. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Kansas City Hospice House in Ron Goodwin's name.
