She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Carter and Dorothy Carter (Holman); her husband Bill; her granddaughter Kimberly Mitchell (Thompson); and her siblings, Roy "Bud" Carter, Richard "Dick" Carter and Mary Jo Wright.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kathy Thompson (Richard) of Queens Creek, AZ, Karen Dailey (Ron) of Lebanon, TN, Debra Tucker (Carl) of Lenexa, KS and Patti Snyder (Jamie) of Spotsylvania, VA; and her siblings, James Carter of Macon, MO, Patricia Batye of Chillicothe, MO and Linda Watson of Atlanta, MO. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Macon County Food Pantry.
