He is survived by: his wife Marisa Chase (Baker); his children, Candice Chase and Joseph M. Chase, Jr.; his siblings, Mary E. Williams, Matilda Pearl Gay, Robert P. Chase and Rose E. Pruitt; and his cousin F. Patrick Dougherty (Pat). He is also survived by 12 Nieces and Nephews, whom he loved dearly, and Great Nephews and Nieces and Great, Great Nieces and Nephews along with many Cousins.
