He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis McElgunn and Esther McElgunn (Shawe); his siblings, Richard "Mac" McElgunn, Gerald "Jerry Mac" McElgunn, Mary Delores McElgunn and Kathleen McElgunn; his uncle Paul McElgunn; and his granddaughter Megan McElgunn.
He is survived by: his children, Chris McElgunn (Gayla) of Wichita, KS, Kevin McElgunn (Carol) of Midland, MI, Brian McElgunn (Nancy) of Hutchinson, KS, Gina Tenbrink (Alan) of Lenexa, KS and Lori McElgunn (Michael Converse) of Kansas City, MO.; his grandchildren, Erin, Sean, Kari, Mara, Patrick, Mary, Anne, Molly, Eli, Andrew, Emily and Owen; and his great grandchildren, Kaid, Dash, Piper, Corbin, Ember, Isla and Jack.
A rosary was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church (12800 W 75th St, Shawnee, KS 66216). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
