She was predeceased by: her parents, David Austin and Alma Dee Ghrist (McCamish); her sister Helen Barrington; the father of her children Dr. Lee Charles Berns; and her husband Albert Johnson.
She is survived by: her former spouse Lee C. Berns; her children, DeeAnna Lee Bray (Richard), Lee C. Berns, Jr. (Karen), Edith "Edie" E. Berns (Mark Grismore) and David A.; and her stepchildren, Paula Johnson Gore and Albert Johnson, Jr. (Marta). She is also survived by her extended family which includes 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
