He was predeceased by: his parents, Giles Roy Smith and Verdie Herrin Smith; his former wife Mary Lee Smith (Ungashick); and his sister Betty Smith Edwards. He is survived by: his children, Dr. Susan Smith Porter (Charles) and Craig Crawford Smith (Cindy); his grandchildren, Monica Porter Collins (David), Troy Porter (Anna), Michael Smith and Matthew Smith; and his great grandchildren, Rivers, Cameron, William, Wesley Collins, Willa and Deia Porter. He is also survived by grandfather figure to his new extended family of 9 more children, 31 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
