She was predeceased by: her son Stanley Simmons; her son-in-law Johnnie Trammel; her siblings, Ann Theresa DeKat, Romanus Cornelius DeKat and Lavina Rose Hanna; and also Tom Thomas.
She is survived by: her parents, Albert DeKat and Anna DeKat (Stuck); her spouse George Simmons; her daughters, Rita Mock (Robert) of Fulton, MO and Georgia Trammel of Lecompton; and her grandchildren, Stephanie Thomas, Jeff Bird (Jenny), Sherie Willis (Matt), Matt Bird (Tracey), Eddie Teets (Gina) and Kelly Houck (Chris).
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to St. Theresa Catholic Church or St. Peter's Cemetery, sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
