He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Alderson and Jewell Alderson (Boring); his wife Mary Lyth; his brother Robert Gene Alderson; his sister-in-law Ginnie Orrick; and his nephew Al Orrick.

He is survived by: his daughters, Virginia Rae McGaha (Howard) and Laura Eloise Musil (Don); his grandchildren, Brian, Ben Lancaster, Dane, Erin (Miller) and Katelyn Musil; his great grandchildren, Brendan, Ben, Scarlett, Riley, Karlie, Emily, Grace, Abigail Lancaster, Hope, Roman and Malia Miller; his sister Eloise Babin; and his nieces and nephews, Debby Howland, Marsha Scrogum, David Alderson and David Babin.
