He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Noland and Fred Tavernaro; his brother Robert K. Tavernaro; his grandchildren, Adam Gibson and Theresa Tavernaro; and his great grandchildren, Jordan Schoen and Laila Schoen.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Tavernaro; his brother Richard Tavernaro of Kansas City; his children, Margie Gibson (Chuck) of Overland Park, Patsy Johns (Rob) of Overland Park, Julie Schlatter (Bruce) of Overland Park, Tom Tavernaro (Lynne) of Overland Park and Amy Sue Douglas of Overland Park; his grandchildren, Chris Gibson (Kelly) of Grandview, Aaron Gibson (Ann) of Overland Park, Blake Johns (Kelsey McGee) of Virginia Beach, Grant Johns (Ashley) of Rogers, Scott Johns, Grace Johns of Overland Park, Morgan Schoen (Ben) of Edmond, Kyle Schlatter (Addie Heck) of Roeland Park, Nicholas Tavernaro (Olivia) of Houston, Natalie Littlefield (Zach) of Lexington, Michael Tavernaro of St. Louis, Emily Conde (Mike) of Holt Summit, Chris Gebert (Lauren) of Ballwin, Doug Gebert (Kelli Hughes) of St. Louis, Cooper Douglas, Caroline Douglas and Addison Douglas of Overland Park; and his great grandchildren, Joseph Stratman, Penelope Gibson, Sophia Schoen, Drake Schoen, Olivia Reinhard, Macklin Reinhard, Owen Conde and Nora Littlefield. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
