He was predeceased by: his parents, Wendling Hastings and Elizabeth Hastings (Powell); his former wife Mary Tate Hastings, MD (Tate); and his siblings, Charles Hastings, MD and Charlotte Beck.
He is survived by: his children, David Tate Hastings (Elizabeth, MD) of Matthew, MD and Emily Hastings Dunn (Jeremy); his wife Melanie Hastings (Woodson); and his son Billy Hastings (Bethanne). He is also survived by ten grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and cousins.
