He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Alig and Elizabeth Alig (Werner); his wife Helen Stafford-Kaeding; and his siblings, Edward Jr., Ralph, Eldon, Rose Marie Donald and Juanita Dodd.

He is survived by: his sister Doris Warford of Medina; and his stepchildren, Robert "Pete" Kaeding (Sandy) and Julie Navinsky (Mark).
