As we bid Johnetta farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Johnetta is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her mother Eula Stitt; and her sister Christine Stitt. She is survived by: her son John Ledbetter; her daughter-in-law Aurea; her stepchildren, Velma Stephens-Decembly and Howard Stergis (Tamika); and her siblings, Curtis Stitt (Lana), Loretta Stitt-Tigner, Daniel Stitt (Lisa) and Eric Stitt (Yolanda). She is also survived by cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Davis Funeral Chapel (531 Shawnee St, Leavenworth, KS 66048). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 1:15 PM at the Mount Calvary Cemetery (1011 Desoto Rd, Lansing, KS 66043).
