He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry William and Myrlie B. Pettis (Guttke); and his brother Arthur Pettis. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Darlyene Pettis (Snodgrass) of Leavenworth; his sons, Bryan Pettis (Karla) of Clarksdale and Brandon Pettis (Kacey) of Leavenworth; his siblings, Sheryl Herrod of Gower, Doug Pettis (Janice) of California, Gary Pettis (Kim) of St. Joseph, Terry Pettis of St. Joseph and Jerry Smock of St. Joseph; and his grandchildren, Megan Mack (Aaron) of Fort Riley, Kan, Kaitlin Tait of Keokuk, Ashley Miller (Aaron) of Fort Johnson, Emily Parsons (Aaron) of Leavenworth and Morgan Tait of Clarksdale. He is also survived by his grandkids and great grandkids.
