Robert James Bower Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 16, 2024, at the age of 89, Robert James Bower of Lawrence, Kansas, born in Fairbury, Nebraska passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Robert James departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Robert James. Though Robert James may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred James and Verna Allisa Bower (Gudgel). He is survived by: his sons, Terry Bower (Marlene) of Tucson, AZ, Michel Bower (Sue) of Lawrence, KS and Bruce Bower (Jennie) of Leavenworth, KS; and his sister Phyllis McCown of Fairbury, NE. He is also survived by five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bob's name to Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community (Skilled Nursing) or the Burn and Wound Care Clinic at the University of Kansas Health System and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044. Warren-McElwain provides a full range of services including burial, cremation in our own crematory, entombment, or body donation.
