He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence R. Dennis and Martha Teel Dennis; his former wife Ruth Elaine Abernathy; his son Donald D. Dennis (Don); and his siblings, Bertha Brown, Elizabeth Mack, Barbara Jean Creek and Leroy Dennis.
He is survived by: his daughters, Judith Diane (Vaughn Gardner) and Annette "Sue" (Dave Vickers); his grandchildren, Kurtis Kyllo, Kelly Wood and Brandon Bryant; his wife Barbara Livingston of Lawrence; his daughter-in-law Jane Dennis; and his stepchildren, Bruce Livingston (Sharon), Russell Livingston, Gaye Benjamin (Dennis) and Jay Livingston. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
