We bid farewell to Norma Jean Torneden (Lawrence, Kansas), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 2, 2024 at the age of 83. Norma Jean touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her son Jon Torneden; and her siblings, Donald Eugene Campbell, Gerald Ray Campbell, Virginia Lee Bourgeault and Geraldine Faye Coleman.
She is survived by: her husband Floyd Frederick Torneden; and her children, Janet Robb Kessler (Jerry) of Perry, KS, Cheryl Robb Johnson (Dana) of Fernandina Beach, FL, Jeanne Torneden Waisner (Scott) of Lawrence, KS, Fred Torneden (Deb) and Lee Torneden of Baldwin City, KS.. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary (120 W 13th St, Lawrence, KS 66044).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lone Star Church of the Brethren or St. Croix Hospice and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
