It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nina Marie Sexton of Lawrence, Kansas, who passed away on October 17, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her daughter Nina; her parents, Clarence Avery and L. Marie Avery (Cherokee Nation); her siblings, Jack Avery, Jo Morse, James Avery, Ronald Avery and Jerry Avery; her half-brother Robert Emrick; her former husband Verle Rutledge; her children, Melany Rutledge of Lenexa, KS and Michael Rutledge; her stepchildren, Rita Sexton (Sanj Kirubakaran) of Centerview, Missouri and Daniel Sexton (Julie Sexton) of Kansas City, Missouri.; her grandsons, Chad Stieglitz (Maggie Stieglitz) of Philadelphia and Austin Ketchum of Austin, Texas.; her stepgranddaughter Cameron Sexton of Kansas City, Missouri.; her great grandchild Cal Stieglitz of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.; and her niece Sonya Cloud. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
She moved with her son, Michael to Lawrence, Kansas in 2020 during the first lockdown of the pandemic.
