We are sad to announce that on August 28, 2024, Marietta F. Winfrey in Lawrence, Kansas, born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Louis Fergerson and Phyllis Fergerson; her husband John Winfrey; her children, Jennifer Younger (Carlo Washington), Bryan Winfrey (Lori), Shannon Hammonds (Freddie), Kristen Woods (Drew) and Jeremy Winfrey; her grandchildren, Shelby Winfrey, Jaiden Younger, Breckin Younger, Saylor Winfrey, Kalli Winfrey, Bailey Hammonds, Shayne Hammonds, Elijah Chaffin, Rose Naramore-Winfrey and Sophia Naramore-Winfrey; and her brother Stephen Furgerson (Marianela).

Memorial contributions may be made in Marietta's name to Childcare Aware of Eastern Kansas and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044. Warren-McElwain provides a full range of services including burial, cremation in our own crematory, entombment, or body donation.
